In Guild Wars 2, mounts are more than just a means to travel faster; they introduce unique movement mechanics and are an exciting addition to your adventuring experience. Your first mount, the Raptor, is obtained relatively early in the Path of Fire expansion storyline.
Accounts with any of the Elder Dragon Saga : , or unlocked will be granted permanent access to the basic raptor mount after they reach level 10 on a single character.
Each character on accounts without an Elder Dragon Saga expansion will get a 10-hour trial of the basic raptor mount when they reach level 10. This includes Play for Free accounts, Core accounts, and accounts with only .
Raptor Masteries can still only be unlocked in the Path of Fire expansion.
Firstly, you need to reach level 60, which is when the World vs. World game mode is unlocked. Use the leveling strategies provided in this guide to get to level 60 efficiently.
Once you've reached level 60 and have access to WvW, you'll need to earn World Ability Points by participating in WvW events such as capturing points, defending your territory, or fighting enemy players.
Spend your first World Ability Point to unlock the Warclaw Mastery track. You'll then need to earn and spend an additional 233 World Ability Points to complete this track and unlock the Warclaw mount.
After you've completed the Warclaw Mastery track, head to a Warclaw Vendor located in any WvW staging area. Purchase a Warclaw Companion item from the vendor for eight gold and 50 badges of honor (earned from participating in WvW events). Using this item will unlock the Warclaw mount for your account!
While it may seem like a lot of work, acquiring the Warclaw mount is an achievable goal, even for free account players. Participating in WvW events to earn the necessary points can be an exciting and rewarding experience. Keep at it, and before you know it, you'll have a mount of your own in Guild Wars 2!
